Woodworking tools and furniture

Woodworking & Furniture Making

Started: 2021

Woodworking has become one of my most fulfilling hobbies. A perfect weekend often means spending several hours in my garage, working on a project. Experimenting with different tools, discovering new techniques is as much fun as the finished project.

I first got into woodworking when I tried to replicate an expensive floor lamp, and built a similar one using just a handsaw. The result was a wobbly and ugly lamp. Since then, I’ve improved, rebuilt that lamp three times, and built more complex projects like dining table, curved benches, drawer sets, patio furniture and L-shaped work tables.

I am a self-taught woodworker, having learned primarily through YouTube. However, I did take an 8-hour class at a local community college to familiarize myself with various woodworking tools and to learn how to use them safely.
